Forgotten Hope 2 News

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
-- Winston S. Churchill

Yes, it has been a long and difficult road to this point. But we're extremely pleased to announce that:

Forgotten Hope 2.0 will be released on:
Friday 14th December, 2007 at 19:00GMT

The dedicated server files and passworded bittorrent will be released on Wednesday 12th December.

This is the first of a set of news updates we will be making in the coming week to help you learn about how to play Forgotten Hope 2.

We have tirelessly prepared two resources for you. First and foremost: McGibs with the vocal efforts of Major and the flawless animation skills of Killi Vanilli have prepared a course of training videos. We present the introduction to the series here.

More installments to come as the week progresses!
______________________________________________

Secondly we have compiled an online manual in the form of a wiki which contains all the information you will need to succeed on the Forgotten Hope 2 battlefield.

Click here to read the combat manual!

This information will be evolving and expanding over the course of this week.

Rommel Returns from New York

Clan [OSM] News

Well I'm back from my trip to New York and have the pictures to prove it. On Wednesday my wife (Sara) and I met G-Dog (Guy) and his girl (Michelle) and spent the evening together. Below is a picture of all of us in Central Park together. From left to right we are: my wife Sara, G-dogs girl Michelle, their baby Addison, G-dog (Guy), and myself.

Rommel, G-dog & Family

We met on the steps of the Museum of Natural History, Had some lunch then spent the afternoon in Central Park just chatting in person with no green lights....lol We then all enjoyed a meal at Katz' Deli. You know the famous Deli from the movie "When Harry met Sally" where she fakes the orgasm. Guy introduced me to the world of Pastrami and Knishes. The Pastrami I liked the Knishes I wasn't so fond of. All in all we had a great time and I look forward to my next trip to New York. Thanks a bunch G-dog and Family!!!

An End to the BF2 Stats Problem......Maybe..

Posted by osm - on Tuesday, July 03 @ 21:51:18 MDT
Battlefield 2 News

The losers at E.A. have finally noticed that there is a major problem with the stats........as in they aren't recording!!! Below is what they have to say for themselves:

As part of our work to address the recent stats issues we will be retroactively processing the backlog of stats from the days when stats weren't properly registered. This is a time consuming process that will take a number of days, beginning Monday July 2nd. During this time your stats are unlikely to accurately reflect your recent game performance, however once everything is caught up they should return to normal. We appreciate your patience during this process and apologise for any frustration caused.

Lets hope that they get their buts in gear with this fix because I know I am out over 1,000 points so far. When they get it done I will let you all know as well. Catch you later!

Forgotten Hope 2 now One Step Closer

Forgotten Hope 2 News

Hello and welcome back to a long awaited preview of what the boys over at Forgotten Hope 2 have got for us. They have stated publicly that they should be releaseing their first version sometime in the mid to late summer so stay tuned!!! Below is what they have to say this week.

First up this week are ingame shots of the German light armoured reconnaissance vehicle Sd.Kfz. 222. Driven by a Horch 3.5 petrol engine its 90 horsepower allowed a maximum cruising speed of 80 km/h and a cross-country speed of 40 km/h. The Sonderkraftfahrzeug 222 was armed with a 2 cm KwK 30 L/55 autocannon and a 7.92 mm Maschinengewehr 34 machine gun. It was modelled by Lude, Rad and AceS, who did the skinning and created the old SdKfz 222 for the BF1942 version already. And last but not least it was deployed into the game by ctz.

Some people wonder about the name seeing the size of the Universal Carrier. But size does not always matter. Often referred to as the Bren Gun carrier (although not always carrying a Bren) this small vehicle showed as very reliable, multirole vehicle. Wether you needed a troop transport or just a machine gun platform - this vehicle could deliver and in the end it was the most numerous armoured fighting vehicle in history with more than 113,000 built! Usually it came along with a 0.303 Bren Gun or 0.55 in Boys anti-tank rifle. Its maximum speed was 48 km/h. The Universal Carrier was modeled by OMNI and Toddel, got its set of wheels from Rad and was coded into game by ctz.

Our last subject is the AEC 4x4 Armoured Command Vehicle. Nicknamed the "Dorchester" after the luxurious London hotel, it had a maximum speed of 60 km/h with a total weight of 11 tons driven by a AEC 187 6 cyl diesel engine delivering 95hp.

This vehicle will serve the commander as another access point to his special abilities. He will only be able to make use of these features being seated inside the Dorchester or at a radio, which were shown before in a previous
update.

Today we present the original British version and additionally one of the three captured by the Germans, who called the vehicle Mammut ("giant"). Two of them, named Max and Moritz (which you see here), were employed by Rommel and his staff throughout the campaign. The Dorchester was modelled by ctz and Toddel, skinned by Toddel, and the wheels were created by Rad.

That's all for today, but be sure to come back for another Forgotten Hope update. And don't forget to join us on
IRC. Feel free to visit our public forums to discuss this update or other news.

[OSM] Defeats Easy Company!

Posted by osm - on Thursday, March 01 @ 22:01:41 MST
C.A.L. News

Last week Clan Operation Secret Mission brought its official CAL Season 5 record to 2-0 with a stunning victory over the rookie CAL team Easy Company. The map was one of [OSM]'s worst maps as they have no dedicated chopper crew and as everyone knows, the chopper rules Dragon Valley. After several minutes of discussion about GUID's the match got under way.

As the time started draining [OSM] from the USMC side took the fight to Easy Company right from the start. [OSM] G-dog piloting the chopper and [OSM] Lieutenant manning the TV guided dealt a devastating blow to their opponents in the opening seconds of the round by destroying a LAV full of troops heading for the Hill Village. Unfortunately this was only a preview of what was to come for Easy Company. Soon their chopper was camped, the bleed was on and the pain trains started rolling into their main. When [OSM] was done the tickets stood at 86-0 in favor of the home team!

The next round went even worse for Easy Company. This time [OSM] playing from the Chinese side executed a flawless opening and never looked back. Easy Company was able to exploit [OSM]'s over aggressiveness and capture the Hill Village for a few moments before the home team reacted and shut them down for good. There wasn't a lot to comment on as the round ended in a 96-0 victory for [OSM].

Congratulations and great job to all of those that participated and helped us scrim throughout the week. We couldn’t have done it without you. Also a special thanks to our Team Silence members that helped this week. If the season keeps going like this we will certainly turn some heads!
